Model History

The Bentley Continental GT was a car that arrived with much fanfare. First shown at the Paris motor show in 2002 the car was then exhibited at that years Le Mans 24 hours, featured heavily the 2003 Goodwood festival of speed and took centre stage at the 2003 Annual Bentley drivers club meeting.

The car proved an instant success and quickly the car became Bentley best-selling model ever. 

 

Exterior Features

The car we have on offer here was first registered in 2005 and is in excellent condition- certainly thanks to careful ownership, low mileage covered (52,664 only!) and extensive servicing.

Painted in Metallic Silver Tempest the car has recently had a set of 20 inch Bentley “Speed” wheels fitted with matching Pirelli tyres which have plenty of tread left.

 

 

Interior features

As you’d expect with any Bentley the interior is a fabulously comfortable place to sit. The interior is two tone soft leather hide in Portland cream with Beluga grey carpets and contrasting stitching. Classic Burr Oak wood adorns the dash and centre console stretching back into the rear seating area. The list of specification found on this vehicle is vast but the highlights include fully heated seats and steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, xenon automatic headlights, keyless entry and so much more.

 

Engine and Mechanicals

When looking for a suitable powerplant for their new super grand tourer Bentley wanted an engine capable of incredible performance while maintaining the comfort and smoothness the brand is known for. The answer was a 6L WR12 engine which Audi had been fitting to it’s A8 luxury saloon since 2001. Bentley still wanted something a little more special so their engineers fitted twin turbos. The result was 560bhp and a 197.6mph top speed. The gearbox chosen to convert all this power into forward motion was a 6 speed automatic ZF tip-tronic unit with paddles for manual gear changing if desired.
