1959 MG A Roadster
Gearbox: Manual 4 Speed
We have this elegant 1959 MGA 1500 Roadster in super condition having been with its previous owner for the last 20 years. This example started off it story as a north American import headed across the pond where it remained until returning to the UK in the early 1990’s. What followed was the best part of a 10 year full restoration lovingly carried out by the then owner, who seemed to have a number of classic MG’s and was obviously an enthusiast. He was also obviously very well organised, as not only was every bill and receipt kept from this period but all costings where summarised in a separate document which tells us than no less than £11, 672. 4 was spent in parts alone by 2002! Rather amusingly one of the costs noted down was “Biggles Hat!” which we can only assume was blown off during a Christmas drive (Date marked 25/ 12/ 2001). The vehicle had an engine rebuild in 2002 at 65, 682 miles and has now covered 73, 500 miles. Today the vehicle remains in excellent condition. Both underside and topside show no signs of corrosion or welding and the biscuit interior has a wonderful patina. No rips or tears, just light wear. The paint work has aged very gracefully with only very few marks to indicate age. Chariot red with biscuit interior has to be one of the nicest combinations available. The roof is also in good condition as are the side screens, the car also comes with a full torneau cover. The shut lines are simply phenomenal- you show me another MGA with panel fit like this!
