1969 MG C GT
Engine: 2998cc 6 cylinder
Gearbox: Manual 4 Speed O/D
Offered for sale we have a beautifully presented MG C GT complete with extensive history file and paperwork. Supplied new to Morris Garages of Oxford on the 13/8/69 the MG has been in its current ownership since 2012. Extra equipment from new consisted of a heater, overdrive and wire wheels all of which it still retains.
The heritage certificate tells us that it was originally painted Snowberry white but this was changed in 2017 when the whole body was taken back to bare metal by ourselves and repainted in very attractive British Racing Green you see today at a cost of over £9,000. Paintwork, brightwork and interior are all still superb, the vehicle underwent a significant restoration in 1995 and has enjoyed regular servicing and maintenance since including yearly MOT’s by a local MG specialist. Mechanically the vehicle needs for nothing, the big 6 cylinder engine fires easily and idles quietly even when cold. The gears select with ease and the overdrive kicks in and out instantly.
Only produced over a 3 year period (1967-1969) The MGC may not have been a hit at the time but thanks to its scarcity they have gained a cult following. Thanks to the subtly more aggressive styling over the far more common B’s and wonderfully versatile engine (As happy cruising at 70+ as it is pootling down countries lanes at 30) for me the biggest difference is the wonderful sound track from the straight 6 engine. A wonderful opportunity to own a British icon in show ready condition.
