1994 MG RV8

Engine: 8 cylinder 3904cc

Gearbox: Manual 5 speed

The introduction and immediate success of the Mazda MX-5 showed the motoring public clamoured for simple 2 seat convertible sports cars, a demand Rover Group executives paid much attention to. Having already placed the MG B bodyshell back into production to support the burgeoning restoration market, the decision was taken to launch a limited-edition sports car of their own using heritage shells fitted with an all alloy V8 also of Rovers own design. High quality Connolly leather and real Burr walnut adorned the interior of which the finish was said to be of Rolls Royce quality.

1,983 RV8s were completed in total, with 1,579 finding their way to Japan- our car is one of those number.

Repatriated back to UK shores in 2006 this example has covered just 18,600 miles from new and has been with its current UK owner since 2018.

Painted in classic Woodcote green the vehicle is in excellent condition both inside and out. The 3.9L Rover V8 sounds superb and is as happy pootling on country lanes as it is high speed cruising on the motorway.

The service file includes MOT certificates, repair manuals and invoices for servicing and parts. Also present is a BMIHT Heritage certificate confirming its oriental origins.

RV8s are an excellent choice for someone wanting classic motoring with modern performance and reliability. They are also excellent investments with very limited numbers made and even fewer surviving today.

These cars never spend long in our showroom so move quickly to avoid disappointment.
