1952 Jowett Jupiter

Engine: 4 cylinder 1486cc

Gearbox: 4 Speed Manual

Now here's something you don't see everyday!
The Jowett Jupiter was introduced in 1950 to excellent reviews from critics. Powered by Jowetts own 1486cc flat 4 engine driven through a column shift 4 speed manual gearbox. Couple that with a relatively low curb weight of 953kg, Jupiter owners could expect to hit 50 from standing in around 11 seconds and carry on all the way up to the 85mph mark- an impressive feat at the time. Unfortunately due to the high quality and low build numbers the car was expensive to buy- around £1,200 brand new, roughly the same as a Jaguar XK120. When production ceased in 1954 only around 900 examples had been built making it a rare sight today even at classic car shows.
This car (Chassis number 668) was dry stored from 1975 until the mid 2010?s when it was treated to a full professional nut and bolt restoration costing an estimated £45,000. Repainted in beautiful Old English White with a brand new dark red hide interior and black carpets. This car is an instant show stopper and needs no work mechanically or cosmetically to be enjoyed and shown.
The car comes with an extensive history file including both its original brown and green logbooks and numerous invoices regarding the restoration and parts. A 1971 MOT certificate is also included. The current owner has collected various Jowett Javelin literature including 2x original maintenance manuals, parts lists, and general information regarding the marque. The registration number (VEV 21) is the same the car left the factory with.
